Extra Details:
CD33 is putative adhesion molecule of myelomonocytic-derived cells that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. It preferentially binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. In the immune response, CD33 may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatase(s) via their SH2 domain(s) that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. This protein induces apoptosis in acute myeloid leukemia (in vitro). Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa18-259 from human CD33 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~29.1kD (265aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
