- Cytokine that in its homotrimeric form binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1, TNFRSF1B/TNFBR and TNFRSF14/HVEM. In its heterotrimeric form with LTB binds to TNFRSF3/LTBR. Lymphotoxin is produced by lymphocytes and cytotoxic for a wide range of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Neutralization: 200ng of TNF-beta antibody is required for the neutralizaion of 1unit/ml TNF-beta. The TNF-beta-preparation which is used has a specific activity of ca. 2x10e7units/mg protein [cell lytic assay with L 929 cells (mouse transformed fibroblasts) and/or WEHJ 164 cells (mouse fibrosarcoma cells)/actinomycin D]. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
