Extra Details:
Calnexin is a Ca++ binding protein found in ER transmembranes that binds to specific n-linked oligosaccharides found on newly synthesized proteins. Calnexin associates with the ER membrane phosphoglycoprotein, signal sequence receptor SSRu, and has been identified as the ER protein associated with major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I heavy chain and with the T-cell receptor and membrane immunoglobulin before assembly of these multimeric complexes. Hence, calnexin may represent a molecular chaperone in the ER membrane that is selective for incompletely folded oligomeric membrane proteins newly translocated to the ER. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:10,000 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:1000-1:2000 Immunocytochemistry: 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control: Human brain tissue lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
