- Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs), a group of structurally and functionally related growth factors, may play important roles in vascular system formation during embryonic development, the regulation of capillary growth in adults, and the maintenance of normal vasculature. It is a ligand for the receptor tyrosine kinases VEGFR-3 and VEGFR2, both of which are expressed by endothelial cells. VEGF-C mRNA has been detected in human heart, placenta, muscle, ovary, and small intestine, as well as in malignant tissues. In addition, VEGF-C mRNA expression was detected in over 50% of tumor specimens studied. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
