- Podoplanin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PDPN gene. This gene encodes a type-I integral membrane glycoprotein with diverse distribution in human tissues. The physiological function of this protein may be related to its mucin-type character. The homologous protein in other species has been described as a differentiation antigen and influenza-virus receptor. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:200 Immunohistochemistry(Paraffin): 1:100-1:200 Immunoprecipitation: 1:100-1:400 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
