Extra Details:: MICA and MICB are stress inducible antigens, which are closely related and appear functionally indistinguishable. MICA and MICB are ligands for NKG2D, an activating receptor on most natural killer (NK) cells, CD8 T cells and gamma delta T cells. MICA is principally expressed on intestinal epithelium, and several epithelial tumors. Expression may be induced to high surface levels by heat shock, oxidative stress, and virus infection. The clone is reported to inhibit the cytotoxicity of NK cells stimulated by IFN alpha-treated dendritic cells (Jinushi et al. 2003). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:20-200 Western Blot: 1:500-1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
