- GM-CSF, Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, is a protein secreted by macrophages, T cells, mast cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. By fluorescence in situ hybridization, the GM-CSF gene is mapped to 5q31.1. GM-CSF is a cytokine that functions as a white blood cell growth factor. GM-CSF stimulates stem cells to produce granulocytes (neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils) and monocytes. GM-CSF is an essential regulator of neutrophil function. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
