- EDG1, a Lysophospholipid/Lysosphingolipid Receptor, binds sphingosine-1-phosphate and may control cell proliferation, survival, and suppression of apoptosis. Overexpression of EDG-1 leads to increased cell-cell aggregation and overexpression of cadherins. EDG-1 transcripts have been reported to be present in embryonic and adult brain, lung alveolar macrophages, vascular smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, melanocytes, and TAg-Jurkat T cells, but to be absent from breast cancer cell lines. ESTs have been isolated from brain, breast, heart, heart/melanocyte/uterus, kidney, liver, liver/spleen, lung, nerve, placenta, prostate, tonsil, uterus, and vessel libraries. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:200 Western Blot: 1:100-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:50 Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
