- Reacts with CD119, the alpha chain of the interferon y (IFN-y receptor. This receptor is expressed by mouse leukocytes, endothelial, and epithelial cells, but not by mature erythrocytes. This antibody recognizes an epitope (susceptible to certain fixatives) in the ligand-binding site of the receptor. It can block the binding of mouse IFN-y; therefore, it can inhibit IFN-y mediated effects including the activation of mouse macrophages for tumor cell killing. IFN-y has been reported to induce the expression of Ly-6A/E antigen on cell lines and normal B lymphocytes, and the antibody is capable of inhibiting the IFN-y.induced expression of Ly-6A/E on the mouse B lymphoma line A20. The binding of the antibody to CD119 is inhibited by IFN-y. This antibody reportedly does not have any agonist effect. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, blocking and receptor binding. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Endotoxin: <0.002Eu/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
