- CCR5 (C-C chemokine receptor type 5) is a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, preferentially expressed by a subset of memory Th1 (type 1 helper T) cells. CCR5 acts as a high-affinity receptor for several chemotactic chemokines, including MIP-1 alpha (macrophage inflammatory protein 1 alpha), MIP-1 beta, and RANTES (regulated on activation normal T expressed and secreted protein). CCR5 is also a major co-receptor for HIV-1 infection, with variations in the CCR5 gene, influencing the rate of progression into AIDS. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:400-1600 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
