- Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They play a role in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. Carbonic Anhydrase IX Precursor (CA 9) is a transmembrane protein that is expressed in clear-cell renal cell carcinomas, but is not detected in normal kidney or most other normal tissues. CA9 may be involved in cell proliferation and transformation. CA 9 is also known as, carbonate dehydratase IX, renal cell carcinoma associated antigen G250, and p54/58N. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:20 ELISA: 1:100-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
