Extra Details:
Aggrecan is a member of a family of large, aggregating proteoglycans (also including versican, brevican and neurocan) which is found in articular cartilage. Aggrecan is composed of three major domains: G1, G2, and G3. Between the G1 and G2 domains there is an interglobulin region (IGD). The IGD region is the major site of cleavage by specific proteases like metalloproteinases (MMPs) and aggrecanase. Aggrecan cleavage has been associated with a number of degenerative diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. There is evidence that this family of proteoglycans modulates cell adhesion, migration, and axonal outgrowth in the CNS. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:40-100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
