- IL-10 is expressed by a variety of cells and plays an important role in inflammatory and immune responses. The biological activities of IL-10 include both immunosuppressive and immuno-stimulatory effects. It suppresses the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by monocytes and neutrophils, and down-regulates the expression of activating and co-stimulatory molecules on monocytes and dendritic cells. It stimulates the growth of B cells and mast cells, and inhibits or enhances the activities of T cells depending on their activation conditions. Human IL-10 is a protein with 160aa. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:5000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
