Extra Details:: The 6X His tag is a short peptide sequence of 6 histidine residues. Epitopes such as the 6X His tag are often included with the target DNA at the time of cloning to produce fusion proteins containing the tag sequence. This allows anti-epitope tag antibodies such as this one to serve as a universal detection reagent for any recombinant protein containing this tag. Anti-epitope antibodies are a useful alternative to generating antibodies to identify a specific recombinant protein. The 6X His motif is often used as a tag on recombinant proteins to facilitate purification with immobilized metal-affinity chromatography. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
