Extra Details:: MICA and MICB are stress inducible antigens, which are closely related and appear functionally indistinguishable. MICA and MICB are ligands for NKG2D, an activating receptor on most natural killer (NK) cells, CD8 T cells and gamma delta T cells. MICA is principally expressed on intestinal epithelium, and several epithelial tumors. Expression may be induced to high surface levels by heat shock, oxidative stress, and virus infection. The clone is reported to inhibit the cytotoxicity of NK cells stimulated by IFN alpha-treated dendritic cells (Jinushi et al. 2003). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, Functional Assays. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:10, 10ul labels 1x10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required for this application Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: P3 myeloma cells with spleen cells from RBF/DnJ mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
