Extra Details:: The viral envelope protein gp160 is cleaved into fragments gp120 and gp41. gp120 is an exterior envelope glycoprotein on the surface of the virus particle that binds to CD4 and chemokine receptors on macrophages and T-lymphocytes. gp41 is non-covalently bound to gp120 and aids the virus in entering the cell. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:500-1:10,000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:10,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
