- CD71 cell surface antigen is a ~190kD homodimeric glycoprotein expressed by proliferating cells. CD71 is also known as the transferrin receptor. Mutation of the TFRC gene has been implicated in the development of Immunodeficiency 46 (IMD46) a combined immunodeficiency characterized by early onset chronic diarrhea, recurrent infections and intermittent neutropenia and thrombocytopenia (Jabara et al. 2016) Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: neat, use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: NS1 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
