Human Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a 660kD, dimeric protein produced by and used entirely within the thyroid gland. Human Thyroglobulin Tg was referred to as "colloid. Human Thyroglobulin (Tg)is used by the thyroid gland to produce the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine. Human Thyroglobulin (Tg) levels in the blood can be used as a tumor marker for certain kinds of thyroid cancer. Thyroglobulin (Tg) levels in the blood can also be elevated in cases of Graves disease. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Titer: 1750-2500IU/ml by ELISA. Anti-Thyroglobulin Activity by ELISA: As Reported (lot-specific). Current lot value: 2500IU/ml Interpretation of Results: <100EU/ml Normal In an ELISA system designed to detect all IgG subclasses, the following purified antigens (dilution of 1:100) responded as: Antigen Result (EU/ml) SSA 3 SSB 3 SCL 2 Sm 4 Sm/RNP 4 Jo-1 5 Interpretation of Results: <16 EU/ml: Negative 16-20 EU/ml: Equivocal >20 EU/ml: Positive Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
