Extra Details:: FGF-2 plays an important role in the regulation of angiogenesis, cell survival, cell division, wound healing and tissue repair, embryonic development, cell differentiation and cell migration, neuronal function and neural degeneration. It functions as potent mitogen in vitro. Recombinant protein corresponding to 153aa from human FGF-2, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~16.5kD Biological Activity: The ED50 for stimulation of cell proliferation in human umbilical vein endothelial cells by human FGF-2 (basic) has been determined to be in the range of 0.1-2ng/ml. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O containing at least 0.1% human or bovine serum albumin. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
