- Extra Details:
- This antibody recognizes proteins of 80-200kD, identified as different members of CEA family. CEA is synthesized during development in the fetal gut and is re-expressed in increased amounts in intestinal carcinomas and several other tumors. This MAb does not react with nonspecific cross-reacting antigen (NCA) and with human polymorphonuclear leucocytes. It shows no reaction with a variety of normal tissues and is suitable for staining of formalin/paraffin tissues. CEA is not found in benign glands, stroma, or malignant prostatic cells. Antibody to CEA is useful in detecting early foci of gastric carcinoma and in distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas (60-70% are CEA+) from pleural mesotheliomas (rarely or weakly CEA+). Anti-CEA positivity is seen in adenocarcinomas from the lung, colon, stomach, esophagus, pancreas, gallbadder, urachus, salivary gland, ovary, and endocervix. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/million cells Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 1:10-1:50 Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & formalin-fixed): 0.5-1ug/ml for 30 min at RT (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Tris Buffer, pH 8.5-9.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
