- Extra Details:
- It recognizes both the free and protein-conjugated (either soluble or cell bound) form of biotin. This MAb is highly specific to biotin and shows no cross-reaction with other structurally related compounds. It has a very high affinity for biotin and is excellent for use in various amplification techniques. In some applications, localization of biotinylated probes with avidin produces unacceptably high background staining. Anti-biotin antibody may be substituted to decrease this noise. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, FLISA, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/million cells Immunofluorescence: 0.5-1ug/ml In situ Nucleic Acid Hybridization; Western Blotting; Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin-fixed): 0.5-1ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT (No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues.) Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined. Positive Control: Biotinylated proteins in solution or on tissues Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. APC is light sensitive. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
