- IL-7 is a cytokine important for B- and T-cell development. This cytokine and the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) form a heterodimer that functions as a pre-pro-B cell growth- stimulating factor. This cytokine is found to be a cofactor for V(D)J rearrangement of the T-cell receptor beta (TCRB) during early T-cell development. This cytokine can be pro- duced locally by intestinal epithelial and epithelial goblet cells, and may serve as a regulatory factor for intestinal mucosal lymphocytes. Knockout studies in mice suggested that this cytokine plays an essential role in lymphoid cell survival. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Intracellular Staining. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Direct ELISA: 1:10,000 yields 0.3 O.D. using IgG (AP) rabbit anti-mouse Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
