Extra Details:: Interleukin-1b is produced by activated macrophages, IL-1b stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing Il-2 release, b-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1b proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Direct ELISA: 1:20,000 dilution will yield >1.0 OD using rabbit anti-mouse IgG (AP), 1:2000 dilution will completely inhibit a thymocyte co-stimulation assay using suboptimal doses of concanavalin A. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
