Extra Details:
Receptor-like protein tyrosine phosphatases (RPTPs) represent a new family of transmembrane proteins that are thought to transduce external signals by dephosphorylating phosphotyrosine residues on intracellular substrates. RPTPmu is a prototypic receptor-like protein-tyrosine phosphatase (RPTP) that mediates homotypic cell-cell interactions. Intracellularly, RPTPu consists of a relatively large juxtamembrane region (about 150 amino acids) and two conserved phosphatase domains. As in most RPTPs, the first (membrane-proximal) PTP domain of RPTPmu is catalytically active, whereas its second (C-terminal) domain is inactive. RPTPmu is involved in cell-cell adhesion through homophilic interactions and may also play a key role in signal transduction and growth control. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
