- Intercellular adhesion molecule 3 (ICAM3) also known as CD50 (Cluster of Differentiation 50), is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, which normally contain 2-9 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and binds to the leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein. This protein is constitutively and abundantly expressed by all leucocytes and may be the most important ligand for LFA-1 in the initiation of the immune response. It functions not only as an adhesion molecule, but also as a potent signalling molecule. ICAM-3 has previously been implicated in apoptotic cell clearance, although its precise role in the clearance process is ill defined. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:100-1:200 Western Blot: 1:100-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:100-1:200. With avidin-biotinylated horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
