Extra Details:: The extent of expression of the basement membrane component type IV collagen may be correlated with the degree of differentiation of basement membrane producing neoplasma. Neoplastic cells of invasive carcinomas often lack a continuous basement membrane. In diagnostic histopathology antibodies to type IV collagen may help to distinguish between non-invasive (benign or in situ) and invasive lesions. Furthermore the antiserum is important in the differential diagnosis of bullous lesions in dermatopathology. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:100-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (frozen, paraffin): 1:25-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
