- Members of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family are emerging as important molecules implicated in the regulation of proliferation, differentiation and survival of T and B lymphocytes. Among these receptors is CD27, the function of which has thus far only been studied in the human system, where it amplifies the T cell proliferative response induced by TCR triggering. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor is required for generation and long-term maintenance of T cell immunity. It binds to ligand CD70, and plays a key role in regulating B-cell activation and immunoglobulin synthesis. This receptor transduces signals that lead to the activation of NF-kB and MAPK8/JNK. Adaptor proteins TRAF2 and TRAF5 have been shown to mediate the signaling process of this receptor. CD27-binding protein (SIVA), a pro-apoptotic protein, can bind to this receptor and is thought to play an important role in the apoptosis induced by this receptor. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (frozen, paraffin): 1:100. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
