- CD22 is a 140kD transmembrane type 1 protein, which is a member of the sialic acid binding immunoglobulin (Ig)-like lectin family of proteins. CD22 is a B-lymphocyte specific protein, which is differentially expressed during B-cell development. It is expressed in the cytoplasm of immature B-cells and on the surface of mature B-cells. The CD22 molecule functions as an adhesion receptor, binding to alpha 2-6 linked sialic acids on glycoproteins expressed by leucocytes and erythrocytes. The molecule is also involved in the regulation of B-cell antigen receptor signaling. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: SP2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
