- This antibody cocktail recognizes two melanoma-specific proteins, which include MART-1 and gp100. MART-1 is a newly identified melanocyte differentiation antigen recognized by autologous cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Function of gp100 is not known but it is reported to be a useful marker for melanocytes and melanomas. A cocktail of these two markers is sensitive for labeling formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded melanomas and other tumors showing melanocytic differentiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen & Formalin-fixed: 0.5-1.0ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: SK-MEL-13 and SK-MEL-19 Melanoma cell lines; Melanomas Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
