Extra Details:
The PGR gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily referred to as progesterone receptor (also known as PgR, PR and nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 3). Progesterone receptor mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce two isoforms, A and B. The two isoforms are identical except for the additional 165aa found in the N-terminus of isoform A only, and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap. Ideal for Cancer, Chromatin & Nuclear Signaling and Signal Transduction research. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:10,000 Western Blot: 1:200-1:500 Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed and paraffin embedded): 1:400, deparaffinize slides using xylene or xylene alternatives and graded alcohols. Staining requires boiling of sections in 10 mM citrate buffer pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: New Zealand White rabbit splenocytes and myeloma Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
