Extra Details:
Epitope tags are short peptide sequences that are easily recognized by tag-specific. Due to their small size, epitope tags do not affect the biochemical properties of the tagged protein. Most often, sequences encoding the epitope tag are included with the target DNA at the time of cloning to produce fusion proteins containing the epitope tag sequence. This allows epitope tag to serve as universal detection reagents for any tag containing protein produced by recombinant means. This means that epitope tags are a useful alternative to generating specific to identify, immunoprecipitate or immunoaffinity purify a recombinant protein. The epitope tag is usually functional in a variety of dependent experimental procedures. Expression vectors producing epitope tag fusion proteins are available for a variety of host expression systems including bacteria, yeast, insect and mammalian cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:15,000 Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder is stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O prior to use. To avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot reconstituted stock solution and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
