- VAChT is a member of the vesicular amine transporter (VMAT) family. The encoded transmembrane protein transports acetylcholine into secretory vesicle for release into the extracellular space. Acetylcholine (Ach) transport utilizes a proton gradient established by a vacuolar ATPase. This gene is located within the first intron of the choline acetyltransferase gene. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: 1:50-1:200 was sufficient for detection of VAChT Transporter in rat brain using immunohistochemistry analysis and goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
