Extra Details:: Tektins are insoluble alpha-helical proteins related to intermediate filament proteins and are essential for the assembly of cilia and flagella. Tektin-5 (TEKT5) is a recently identified member of the Tektin family. It is predominantly expressed in testis, and its expression is upregulated during testis development. It is present in sperm flagella but not in heads, suggesting that it may act as a middle component required for flagellar stability and sperm mobility. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: 3T3 (NIH) Cell Lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
