- SYNPO2L was initially identified as a novel heart-enriched gene that encodes a cytoskeletal protein highly expressed in the Z-disc of heart and skeletal muscle, associates with actin and interacts with a-actinin. It is a member of the synaptopodin family, sharing greatest homology with Synaptopodin 2. Recent studies have shown that SYNPO2L, while primarily localized to the sarcomere, can also translocate to the nucleus. A knockdown of SYNPO2L in zebrafish resulted in aberrant cardiac and skeletal muscle development and function, suggesting that it is a critical component of the sarcomere and plays an important role in muscle development. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human Thymus Tissue Lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
