- Extra Details:
- TXNRD2 (Thioredoxin reductase 2), also known as TRXR2, TR3, SELZ, or TR-BETA, Thioredoxin reductases, are selenocysteine (sec)-containing flavoenzymes that maintain thioredoxins, small proteins that catalyze redox reactions, in the reduced state using the reducing power of NADPH. By STS analysis and genomic sequence analysis, respectively, Miranda-Vizuete et al. (1999) and Sun et al. (1999) mapped the TXNRD2 gene to chromosome 22q11.2. Miranda-Vizuete et al. (1999) mapped the mouse gene to chromosome 16. Gasdaska et al. (1999) showed that TXNRD2 was a thioredoxin reductase that could directly reduce proteins such as insulin. UniProt Number: Q9NNW7 Gene ID: TXNRD2 Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
