- Extra Details:
- SCLY (Selenocysteine Lyase), is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction. This enzyme belongs to the family of lyases, specifically the class of carbon-sulfur lyases. The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the human SCLY gene to chromosome 2. Mihara et al. (2000) showed that mouse Scly catalyzed the conversion of L-selenocysteine to L-alanine. Scly activity required pyridoxal 5-prime phosphate, was specific to L-selenocysteine, and showed maximum reactivity at pH 9.0. UniProt Number: Q96I15 Gene ID: SCLY Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
