- Extra Details:
- Protein kinase C (PKC) is the major phorbol ester receptor. Activation of PKC by calcium ions and the second messenger diacylglycerol is thought to play a central role in the induction of cellular responses to a variety of ligand-receptor systems and in the regulation of cellular responsiveness to external stimuli. Three of these, termed alpha, beta and gamma, are highly homologous. PRKCA1 is mapped to 17q22-q23.2. PKC-alpha regulates cardiac contractility and propensity toward heart failure. UniProt Number: P17252 Gene ID: PRKCA Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
