- Extra Details:
- Mitogen-activated protein kinase 1, also known as MAPK1, p42MAPK, and ERK2, is an enzyme which in humans is encoded by the MAPK1 gene. The gene is mapped to 22q11.2. And The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the MAP kinase family. The deduced 360-amino acid human ERK2 protein shares 98% identity with rat Erk2. The MAP kinase ERK2 is widely involved in eukaryotic signal transduction. Upon activation, it translocates to the nucleus of the stimulated cell, where it phosphorylates nuclear targets. Futhermore, the ERK pathway is necessary for experience-dependent plasticity and for long-term potentiation of synaptic transmission in the developing visual cortex. And the MAPK pathway is also involved in responses to NTN1. UniProt Number: P28482 Gene ID: MAPK1 Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
