- Extra Details:
- Fatty acid binding protein 6, ileal, also called FABP6 or ILBP is a protein which in humans is encoded by the FABP6 gene. Ileal lipid-binding protein (ILBP) is a member of a family of intracellular fatty acid, retinoid, and bile acid-binding proteins. This gene is mapped to 5q33.3. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABP6 and FABP1 (the liver fatty acid binding protein) are also able to bind bile acids. It is thought that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. UniProt Number: P51161 Gene ID: FABP6 Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
