- Growth Hormone (GH) is mapped to 17q22-q24. Growth hormone (GH) is synthesized by acidophilic or somatotropic cells of the anterior pituitary gland. Mouse GH shares 98% amino acid sequence homology with rat. It binds two receptor molecules and thereby induces signal transduction through receptor dimerization. At high concentrations, GH acts as an antagonist because of a large difference in affinities at the respective binding sites. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
