- Carcinoembryonic antigen is a complex immunoreactive glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 180,000 comprising 60% carbohydrate. It is found in adenocarcinomas of endodermally derived digestive system epithelia and in fetal colon.Carcinoembryonic antigen is one of the most widely used tumor markers in serum immunoassay determinations of carcinoma. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-2ug/ml using heat mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH8.0, epitope retrieval solution) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
