- KITLG is the ligand of the tyrosine-kinase receptor encoded by the KIT locus. This ligand is a pleiotropic factor that acts in utero in germ cell and neural cell development, and hematopoiesis, all believed to reflect a role in cell migration. In adults, it functions pleiotropically, while mostly noted for its continued requirement in hematopoiesis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: In a sandwich ELISA (assuming 100ul/well), a concentration of 4-8ug/ml of this antibody will detect at least 1000pg/ml of recombinant human SCF when used with biotinylated antigen affinity purified anti-human SCF (Cat #S0400A) as the detection antibody at a concentration of ~1-2ug/ml. Western Blot: To detect hSCF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.25-0.5ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hSCF is 2-4ng/lane, under non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
