Extra Details:: Native human C9 is a naturally glycosylated protein composed of a single polypeptide chain. The molecular weight is 71kD. C9 binds to the C5b-8 complex and forms the mature membrane attack complex (MAC) on cell membranes. Each pathway of complement activation generates proteolytic enzyme complexes (C3/C5 convertases) which are bound to the target surface . These enzymes cleave a peptide bond in the larger alpha chain of C5 releasing the anaphylatoxin C5a and activating C5b. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000-1:64,000 Western Blot: 1:16,000-1:32,000 Immunodiffusion: 1:8 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
