- alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR), (also known as P504S) is an enzyme that is involved in peroxisomal beta-oxidation of dietary branched-chain fatty acids. Recent studies have shown that, compared with expression in normal or benign prostate epithelium, AMACR is consistently overexpressed in prostate cancer epithelium, making it a specific marker for cancer cells within the prostate gland. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
