Extra Details:
Mitochondrial intermembrane chaperone that participates in the import and insertion of some multi-pass transmembrane proteins into the mitochondrial inner membrane. It is also required for the transfer of beta-barrel precursors from the TOM complex to the sorting and assembly machinery (SAM complex) of the outer membrane and acts as a chaperone-like protein that protects the hydrophobic precursors from aggregation and guide them through the mitochondrial intermembrane space. The TIMM8-TIMM13 complex mediates the import of proteins such as TIMM23, SLC25A12/ARALAR1 and SLC25A13/ARALAR2, while the predominant TIMM9-TIMM10 70kD complex mediates the import of much more proteins. It is probably necessary for normal neurologic development. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Sandwich ELISA: The detection limit is ~0.3ng/ml as a capture antibody Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3ug/ml stains TIMM8A on human liver Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Amino Acid Sequence: AAGLGAVDPQLQHFIEVETQKQRFQQLVHQMTELCWEKCMDKPGPKLDSRAEACFVNCVERFIDTSQFILNRLEQTQKSKPVFSESLSD Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.  For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.  Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
