Extra Details:
Prosaposin is a highly conserved 66kD glycoprotein which contains separate domains in tandem for four saposins, A, B, C, and D. These saposins are involved in lysosomal hydrolysis of GM1 ganglioside, gluco- and galactocerebrosides, sulfatides, and sphingomyelin and other sphingolipids. It also exists as a secretory protein in body fluids. Deficiency of PSAP saposin-B, PSAP saposin-C and PSAP saposin-D region are the cause of a variant of metachromatic leukodystrophy, atypical Gaucher disease and Tay-Sachs disease respectively. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. The gene maps to 10q21-q22 region of human chromosome. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
