- Doc2-alpha is mainly expressed in brain and is suggested to be involved in Ca(2+)-dependent neurotransmitter release. It may also be involved in dynein-dependent intracellular vesicle transport. The cDNA predicts a 400-amino acid protein with relative mass of 44,071 Da and 2 repeated C2-like domains in the C-terminal region. The C2 domain 1 is involved in binding calcium and phospholipids. It is predominantly expressed in the brain but also expressed in testis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
