- Extra Details:
- The CD79 molecule, comprising two polypeptide chains, mb-1 (CD79a) and B29 (CD79b), is physically associated in the B-cell membrane with immunoglobulins to constitute the B cell antigen receptor (BCR). The CD79a/b heterodimer interacts with at least one tyrosine kinase (Lyn). Induction of tyrosine kinase activity after antigen binding causes phosphorylation of the CD79a/b dimer, and also of other molecules, thereby initiating intracellular signaling. Almost all acute lymphoblastic leukemias of precursor B cell type are positive when tested with CD79a antibodies. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
