- BRCA 1 and 2 are breast cancer susceptibility proteins that play a role in DNA damage, repair, cell cycle progression, transcription and apoptosis, etc. The BRCA1 gene is expressed in numerous tissues, including breast and ovary, and encodes a predicted protein of 1863aa. BRCA2 has been shown to be required for localization of Rad51 to sites of DSBs (double stranded breaks) in DNA. Cells lacking BRCA1 and BRCA2 cannot repair DSBs through the Rad51-dependent process. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
