- BBS7 is a widely expressed protein with similarity to BBS2. Defects in BBS7 are a cause of Bardet-Biedl syndrome type 7 (BBS7) which is a genetically heterogeneous disorder characterized by usually severe pigmentary retinopathy, early onset obesity, polydactyly, hypogenitalism, renal malformation and mental retardation. The encoded protein may play a role in eye, limb, cardiac and reproductive system development. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. AA Sequence: SILKDVLSKEATKRKINLNISYEINEVSVKHTLKLIHPKLEYQLLLAKKVQLIDALKELQIHEGNTNFLIPEYHCILEEADHLQEEYKKQPAHLERLYG Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
